We're losing the capacity unbiased bridled facet of this linking species travesty whilst silence greets the floor.
On a lighter no two ways about the states we see can cease to shout - we find our shelves are running out - but silence greets the floor.
Inside we fester, boil contest his newest titles never tested - all the while we still invest - and silence greets the floor.
Think nothing - say nothing - do Fuck all!
What have we evolved to? if not rats - with teeth - that bite?
I'll scrape my toes up earnest soles with hearts for hands and heads of holes - "what's yours is mine and mine's my own" - while silence greets the floor.
And from this damaged twisted seed our greed outweighs our greater need - we tap for pellets just to feed - and silence greets the floor
Night falls and silent beasts attack our censors tell us, "don't fight back!" - we leave with every fear intact as silence greets the floor.
Justified? and all for what? "cos some have got what I have not" - we've raised the bar then dropped the lot - still silence greets the floor
The future's bleak and i insist on direct action, hope, and risk - I'll raise my voice before my fist - if silence greets the floor
The climb is hard and short of breath we stumble on informal tests to lift our neighbours from unrest - as silence greets the floor
Through times of challenged liberty with hearts and minds and will to see - we're young and poor but speech is free
But silence greets the floor

Promise
I will not
instruct which way to look [at the world]
I can wish only
to teach you how to see
